Outline of product
The audio loudness meter, model AM-3807 is a high-functional audio loudness measurement monitor that supports SDI embedded audio and AES audio. The loudness measurement is compliant to the ITU-R BS.1770 (ARIB TR-B32) loudness algorithm. Measurement modes cover integrated (average), short-term and momentary with continuous measurement for up to 6 hours. Display layouts include history, loudness level bar, and picture. You can select TC (Time Code) or audio level for auto measurement trigger as well as the START/PAUSE button on the front panel. Start and pause triggers can be set respectively such that TC is the trigger for start and audio level is the trigger for pause. Audio level triggers consist of not only level but also period for flexible application. AM-3807 includes various unique and useful features such as overwrite measurement chasing TC

Features
Equipped with a 7-inch LCD and various display layouts
AM-3807 has three display layout modes of history, loudness level bar, and picture. Each mode has graphics and various number values. Loudness of integrated, momentary/short-term and true peak are displayed. The display color is green when measurement result is within target level, red when beyond target level, and blue when below target level. It is quite simple.
History
If you want to see time-elapsed data, history mode shows it to you. The screen displays max./min. values of loudness level of integrated, momentary/short-term and true peak on a TC based horizontal line. Use position and zoom adjustment to see the specific position with a wider image.
Loudness level bar
Momentary and short-term measurement results are displayed in the loudness level bar mode. If the audio mode is 2ES, AM-3807 shows it on the screen simultaneously. The level bar is refreshed by 25msec step.
Surround Lissajous display
Surround display makes it possible to see adjacent channel correlation, each channel level including LFE, and sound expanse.
Detecting audio mode, display changes to Lissajous on stereo mode. At 5.1ch or 5.1ch+S mode, internal down mixed Lissajous can be displayed.

Overwrite loudness measurement
When measurement result fails over the target level, users don’t need to measure whole period again. After the failed period is modified, users simply play back that period only. AM-3807 measures that period by TC, overwrites the previously measured data, and provides loudness value for the whole period.
1. | Determine failed period
2. | Modify source audio level.
3. | Set AM-3807 start TC and pause TC of the failed period
4. | Play back failed period of modified audio source and AM-3807 starts and stops measurement with the previously set TC.
5. | AM-3807 overwrites the previously measured data and provides loudness value for the whole period |
Supporting various audio mode
AM-3807 supports various audio mode such as Mono, 2Mono, ST, 2ST, 5.1 and 5.1+S. Each audio channel is assignable respectively per audio mode. 5.1 downmix can be assigned to ST. ES mode is supported as well.

USB port
AM-3807 is equipped with two USB ports. One is for saving and loading loudness log data via a USB memory drive, and the other is for controlling AM-3807 via a USB mouse with zoom and cursor movement. It can be used like a PC.
HD/SD-SDI and AES/EBU input
AM-3807 supports HD/SD-SDI(compliant to SMPTE292M/259M) embedded audio and AES/EBU. Connector of AES/EBU is D-sub 25pin TASCAM compatible. Throughout of SDI and AES/EBU are equipped as well.
